Tanya joined the Victoria Sports Physiotherapy team in June 2019 following her move to Prince George to be closer to family and enjoy the Northern quality of life. Tanya grew up in the Vancouver area, where she attended the University of British Columbia and completed her Bachelor of Science in 2009 while competing for the UBC Varsity rowing team.
Tanya then went on to row for the Canadian National Rowing Team, where she competed at the World Rowing Championships and other international events. Upon retiring from rowing, she pursued a career in physiotherapy to continue to follow her passions of helping people and being strong and active. Tanya completed her Masters of Physical Therapy at the University of British Columbia in 2018.
In her practice, Tanya enjoys working with people to develop exercise programs and strategies to rehabilitate and prevent injuries and allow people to get back to doing what they love. Tanya also has an interest in working with runners and has taken post-graduate coursework to treat and prevent running injuries.
Tanya has always remained very active, prioritizing exercise throughout her life. She has recently taken up cross-country skiing and enjoys pushing the boundaries, running ultra marathons in her spare time. As much as Tanya loves being active, she also enjoys spending downtime with her cats Howard and Leah.
